The Innovation design Platform (IdP) was established by Tokyo Tech in April 2022 with the aim of “Nurture Academic Startups to Change the World”.
The IdP comprehensively implements startup support activities that Tokyo Tech has been working on, such as supporting Tokyo Tech ventures, improving the entrepreneurial environment, cooperating with entrepreneurship education programs, and collaborating with external organizations.
According to the Basic Education Act, universities, as the core of scholarly activities, are to contribute to the development of society by cultivating advanced knowledge and specialized skills, inquiring deeply into the truth to create new knowledge, and broadly offering the fruits of these endeavors to society.
There is great potential for the creation of academic startups in the university’s efforts to contribute to the development of society. I believe that Tokyo Tech has particularly great potential.
IdP will contribute to realizing this potential and making the world a better place.
Background of establishment
IdP Tokyo Tech was established as an organization that evolved from Venture Development and Relations Section in April 2022.
IdP Tokyo Tech takes over the outcomes, logo and English name of the project, JST SCORE University Promotion Type（Developing the Environment for Creation of
Startup Ecosystem in Startup Cities Type）, which Tokyo Tech conducted as the core institution in 2021.
