Today, social change and advances in the economy, science, and technology continue to accelerate at an unprecedented speed. In the midst of these profound transformations, the role of startups in generating new value and driving societal change has grown ever more significant.
Under these circumstances, Center for Innovation Design, guided by its clear vision of “Nurture Academic Startups to Change the World” serves as a core institutional pillar for advancing startup creation at Science Tokyo. Center for Innovation Design comprehensively undertakes functions ranging from support for startup creation and the growth of certified ventures (Science Tokyo Ventures) to the development of entrepreneurial environments, collaboration with regional and industrial partners, coordination with entrepreneurship and management of technology education, and partnerships with other universities and external organizations.
In an era marked by increasing uncertainty, Science Tokyo has set forth the Visionary Initiatives (VIs), with the aim of realizing a “Better Life”, “Better Society”, and “Better Planet.” Drawing upon its distinguished strengths in science and technology, Science Tokyo is steadfastly committed to advancing this vision. Within this broader framework, Center for Innovation Design plays a vital role in expanding the foundation of university-originated startups, strengthening linkages with both domestic and international startup ecosystems, and promoting the creation of globally competitive ventures.
It is our firm conviction that from Science Tokyo will continue to emerge bold and transformative endeavors that contribute meaningfully to the future of society.
