Science Tokyo GAP Fund Program 2026 – Call for Applications
Program Overview
The Innovation Design Platform supports faculty members who are engaged in entrepreneurial activities to implement their research results in society. We are pleased to announce the launch of the Science Tokyo GAP Fund Program (STGF) to provide proof-of-concept support and mentoring necessary for social implementation of research outcomes and for starting a business.

Friday, January 23, 2026, by 12:00 noon (JST)
Eligibility
Applicants must meet all requirements listed in items ①–⑧ of the application guidelines. Please refer to the full guidelines for details.
Main Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be faculty members or graduate students of Science Tokyo. Faculty members must be employed by Science Tokyo as researchers during both the application and support periods. Graduate students must hold student status during both the application and support periods (excluding leaves of absence).
- Applicants must be inventors or contributors to the core technology seeds of the proposed theme.
- Applicants must aim to return research results to society through the establishment of a venture company or commercialization using the technology seeds.

STEP 1: Download Application Forms
Please download the application forms from the link below. If the applicant is a student, submission of a confirmation Form is mandatory.
STEP 2: Upload Application Forms
After entering basic information in the application form, upload the following documents:
1. Application Form
2. Confirmation Form (mandatory for student applicants)
3. Supplementary Materials (optional, up to 10 pages)
Notes: All documents must be converted to PDF. Do not include your name in the file name. Upload requires login authentication via the Science Tokyo portal. For login instructions, please refer to the FAQ here: (https://portal.isct.ac.jp/ja/faq/).
